Thanks to SafeAmerica’s staff and Knights of Columbus, drivers were riding from Dallas, GA to Atlanta’s Shepherd Spinal Center over 6 days… driving a former Air Force veteran that need medical help. And, imagine that several volunteer rides drove 1,000 miles over 6 days… and now, ‘VET Tran’ is planning to do more!!

“We’re proud of how some new Knights of Columbus in St. Ann’s Parish in East Cobb County were offering to help,” noted SafeAmerica’s President & CEO Len Pagano. “We’re pleased to have them riding for hours… and how our volunteer VET Tran leader Terry Defore was also helping and making veterans feeling better!”

In Alpharetta, American Legion/Post 201’s new CommanderBob Byrd – also met recently with SafeAmerica’s Len Pagano. And, together with former Commander Tom Billings, Commander Byrd is planning ‘more partnership’ to help VET Tran in Fulton County plus other nearby counties.

“We’re pleased with Post 201 partnering with us – and also Highland Rivers Behavioral Health that            CEO  Melanie Dallas and Vice President Rodney Moore are also agreeing to have us drive veterans for mental health, also,” Pagano said. “There are things that are going ‘up’ – and we’ll be committed to do more… and plan meetings so communities will join in… like DeKalb County which is offering a grant from Commissioner Steve Bradshaw that we’ll also seek to use a part of a grant.”

A conversation with Dunwoody’s regional headquarters for State Farm is also suggesting a meeting in month’s ahead. And, more conversations in an ‘ABOUT the Future’ conference planned with elected leaders. SafeAmerica will plan future conversations with Congressman Rich McCormick, who also was a veteran and may chat as SafeAmerica suggests more further tasks in Alpharetta, Atlanta and Metro Atlanta counties. Together with MARTA, SafeAmerica has discussed and suggest a new way to offer train and bus mini-discounts (which SafeAmerica may promote donations for veterans and offer more rides daily). Coming forward, we’ll have veterans be in touch and share what rides they need. To confirm soon, call SafeAmerica Foundation at (770) – 973 – SAFE. And, we’ll plan more on VETV.US… plus also post more on LinkedIn, Facebook and our other https://safeamerica.org and https://livesafe.live websites.  Pagano also thanked Cobb EMC Foundation and Helen Smith for her Board’s support… and will look for more conversations this fall.
