Helping veterans has led to new volunteers who will help raise donations for SafeAmerica. The individuals who ‘joined in’ for Pizza Hut last night join on a new ‘Serve Team.’ And, will be making calls to their friends plus other people who have made major donations in the past few years.
“We’re proud to have these young people – who offered to help reach out to their friends, family and other neighbors – and want to DO GOOD,” noted CEO Len Pagano. ‘Thanks to their commitment, we will make them in our ‘Serve Team’ – and help them have fun, also – in events we plan in December 14-15 ‘ABOUT the Future.'”
Among the mix of initial members are (from left-to-right): Charles Pagano, the executive director and producer of ‘SNN’ videos for YouTube; Terry Smith, who owns Atlanta Meat and Fish business company; Erwin McCutchen, an employee at Publix; Mikal Thompson, who has joined a volunteer for SafeAmerica; Len Pagano, SafeAmerica President & CEO; Sodonna Clarke, who has a technical company and also plays with many friends at L.A. Fitness in racquetball; Michael Thompson, who’s served the Cobb Transit System and is applying to drive ambulances for SafeAmerica’s ‘VET Tran’ system; Leo Coakley, who’s applying to serve SafeAmerica; and Michael Mizell, who founded the ‘Colonel’s Cup’ Foundation and runs the John’s Creek Veterans Association (JCVA).
The good news is that more people are joining in to help build VETServe for veterans. And, next week President Alex Kaufman of the Roswell Rotary Club will meet privately to consider how SafeAmerica and Rotary Club can partner to ‘do good work,’ with President-elect Nancy Alterman planning to meet, also, with CEO Len Pagano.
“Thanks to the Knights of Columbus and former State Deputy Jim Clifford, we connected with Grand Knight Mark Fazio, who’s now hoping to engage more of his 380 North Fulton members to help – and, with good friends in the American Legion/Post 201 (like Commander Tom Billings, Ralph Jordan, Harry Hollingsworth, Dave Gordon and Ralph Fike), we’ll do more good work with helping them,” Pagano said. “Ultimately, we’ll be growing friendships – in over 10 veteran organizations – and other groups and elected leaders that are committed to helping save lives.”
